Judaism

For us, Judaism is represented by the variety of national and moral values, beliefs and opinions, conceptions and laws, which nurture those who define themselves as Jews and enable our continuity as a people.

At Mount Sinai (the giving of the Tablets of the Law) the basic concepts governing inter-human relations were fixed. Throughout the generations, we are witnesses of a continuous phenomenon of spiritual creation, which allowed us to develop the same basic precepts from the Tablets of the Law and adapt them to the changing reality. These moral categories are the ones that served us in the past and still govern our national and social conception. We appreciate ourselves as a link in the chain of generations that begins at that event and continues throughout Jewish history, with its ups and downs.

At the same time, we recognize that there have always existed in our people different currents of thought. This phenomenon encouraged the creation of spiritual treasures with which the People of Israel was blessed throughout its generations. Already at the time of the Second Temple, the culture of conversation and debate was common. This is the culture that we apply in our education, based on the conviction that the young person possesses sufficient capacity to self-define his or her relationship to identity.

From this follows our pluralistic conception, which accepts as legitimate the existence of different currents of thought, philosophical conceptions and forms of worship, within the broad framework of the modern Jewish spectrum.

Because of the responsibility we have as an educational youth movement for the Jewish and Zionist education of young people in the Diaspora, we assumed the commitment to activate together with other Tnuot that share our essential foundations of Judaism and Zionism as ideological dimensions, along with the fact that we are non-partisan. This led to the creation of the Hanoar Hatzioni family. This family is composed of our kenim around the world and what we have called “Tnuot Sisters”.
